Over the years, the Illawarra Family History Group has
acquired a valuable collection of resource material. This is held in the Family History Room,
Local Studies section of Wollongong City Library.
The Family History Room
Most of the collection is open access and available during
normal library hours; however, some items are available only to members.
Members can access these items by
presenting their current IFHG membership card to the duty librarian, who will
provide the keys to the locked cupboards and filing cabinets.

Library Research
Research volunteers are present at the Wollongong City
Library on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9.30 am to 12.00 pm. This service is FREE.
Our Ryerson Index volunteer is available in the library by
appointment on Wednesday
Our DNA volunteer is available in the library by
appointment on Wednesday.

Research outside of Library hours
If you cannot attend the library, the IFHG research team
can conduct research for you via email.
This service carries a fee.
