Over the years the Illawarra Family History Group has compiled a valuable collection of Resource material that are held in the Family History Room at Wollongong Library. Most items are on open access although some are available only to members to use while in the Wollongong Library - Local Studies section.
About our Collection
- Books and microfiche which are not locked in the cupboards or filing cabinets are available during all normal library hours.
- Wednesday and Fridays are the only days that IFHG Research Officers will be on duty.
- IFHG members re required to show their current membership card to the librarian on duty to be given keys to locked cupboards and filing cabinets. Locked cupboards and filing cabinets MUST NOT be left unlocked while doing research.
Volunteer Research Officers are present in the Wollongong Library on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 09.30 a.m. - 12.00 p.m. If coming into the Wollongong Library please bring with you family records to assist with your enquiry.
However, if you are not able to attend the Wollongong Library then the IFHG Research Team members will conduct the research for you via email or post.

- Send any other information that you believe is relevant to assist our team
Write to the IFHG Secretary with your request. If a postal enquiry,please include a stamped self-addressed business size envelope.

All additional research will be at $20.00 per hour or part thereof.
